Winehouse taken to London emergency room

LONDON - A spokesman for Amy Winehouse says the Grammy-winning singer has gone to the emergency room at a London hospital.

Winehouse was taken by ambulance from her north London home to University College Hospital, spokesman Chris Goodman says. He did not know what might be wrong with the singer.

Winehouse�s musical success has been overshadowed by her tumultuous private life and public struggles with drugs and alcoholic drink. Her padre has said she developed early stage emphysema from smoking cigarettes and check cocaine.

Hubby Offered Winehouse's Cash As Bribe, It's Claimed

Amy Winehouse's husband was really quite a catch.

It has come out in court that hubby, Blake Fielder-Civil, tried to pay off a bar tender he beat up -- using Amy's money!

Blake and a friend broke their victim's cheek bone in a brutal attack, and later offered him around $390,000 (�200,000) not to show up to give evidence against them, according to a court report in Britain's Daily Mail.

And where would a waster like Blake, 26, get that kind of cash? Out of his rich wife's purse, of course!

Blake, who is serving time for both the assault and the failed scheme, was caught trying to sabotage the case when a middle man they hired to arrange the deal sold the story to a British tabloid.

It was claimed in a London court yesterday, where the bar tender is being tried for his part in the deal, that Blake planned to use the Grammy-winner's money for the bribe.

A prosecutor told the court that in October 2007, when a reporter from the paper asked the go-between if Amy, 24, was involved in the plan, he said: "Who do you think is paying for it?"

And all this just six months after they got married!

Amy has already been cleared of knowingly taking part in the scheme.

Eavis: 'We've shaken up Glastonbury'

Michael Eavis has reiterated his confidence in a changed approach to the Glastonbury Festival.

The organiser said he hopes a "whole cultural mix of people" will attend and again rejected criticism of the choice of Jay-Z for a headlining slot.

"Everywhere I go kids come up to me in the street and say it's fantastic Jay-Z is playing," Eavis told the Press Association. "Lovely kids in their teens. And I say, 'Have you bought tickets?' and they say, 'No, but we're all coming!'

"We need a whole cultural mix of people. We need an age mix and a cultural mix. That's what we're looking for. This is a huge success, it really is. It's never been so talked about."

Eavis, who also owns the worthy Farm site in Somerset, continued: "After 38 years that we were just kept going, drumming along in the same old sweet ways. But we've put changes in this year which have really shaken up the concept of it. It's a great occasion."

Sheryl Crow - Crow Finds Love With Restaurateur

Rocker SHERYL CROW has joined the list of stars hooking up with restaurateurs after reportedly romancing Alabama businessman JOHN CASSIMUS.

The singer, who has dated Eric Clapton, Kid Rock and former cyclist Lance Armstrong, started dating Zoe's Kitchen chain boss Cassimo after mutual pal, radio host Jay Barker, set them up on a date.

A source tells Life + Style magazine, "They're enjoying getting to know each other. Jay got them together in March and John, who's also a pilot, has been flying to Nashville to see her.

"They've kept it pretty low-key - cooking together, riding horses, going up in his plane."

Amy Winehouse - Winehouse Doherty Star In Bizarre Animal Video

Troubled British stars AMY WINEHOUSE and PETE DOHERTY have appeared in a bizarre video - where they can be seen talking to mice.

In the clip - posted on video-sharing website YouTube - the Back to Black hitmaker can be seen playing with Doherty's pet cat at his East London home.

The 24-year-old - wearing just a bra and shorts - also picks up a box of mice and uses them to give a message to her incarcerated husband Blake Fielder-Civil.

She says, "Please don't divorce mummy."

The one-minute, 42-second footage, called Amy Winemouse, was posted by Doherty under the name "1waytikt2tickletown".

Lindsay Lohan's mother Dina and sister Ali are to star in a new reality TV show.
Reuters reports that the series, which has the working title 'Living Lohan', will follow the mother as she works on her 14-year-old daughter's career in showbusiness.
The series will begin this summer on the E! network.
E! said the programme would "follow Dina as she works double duty as mom and manager to help Ali try to follow in her big sister's famous footsteps".
Commenting on the series, Lisa Berger, Executive Vice President of Original Programming for E!, said Dina Lohan was "an incredibly hard-working, passionate mom that I think our viewers will find both relatable and highly entertaining".

Heigl named 'Most Desirable Woman'

'Grey's Anatomy' and 'Knocked Up' star Katherine Heigl has been named the 'Most Desirable Woman of 2008' in an online poll.
The 29-year-old actress topped a list of 99 women chosen by members of the public on the website AskMen.com.
People were asked to vote for women who best embody the qualities of an ideal girlfriend or wife, as judged by intelligence, humour, charisma and ambition.
AskMen.com's Editor-in-Chief, James Bassil said: "This year's list really goes to show who (our users) relate with and find beautiful, charming and personable."
Model Alessandra Ambrosio was placed second on the list, with actresses Kate Beckinsale and Eva Mendes coming third and fourth respectively.
Jessica Alba, Scarlett Johansson, Jessica Biel, Rihanna, Marisa Miller and Adriana Lima all made the Top 10 of the Most Desirable Women list.

Liza Minnelli - Minnelli In Uk Visa Fiasco

Veteran singer/actress LIZA MINNELLI was almost forced to scrap a series of concerts in the U.K. after immigration officials refused her entry into the country.

The 62-year-old was stopped shortly after arriving at London's Heathrow airport on Saturday (24May08) night and questioned over her work visa.

Minnelli was subsequently denied entry after officials revealed she did not have the correct paperwork to perform in the U.K.

But the shows were saved after government officials at the U.K.'s Home Office stepped in to resolve the crisis.

A spokesman for Minnelli says, "Liza's team had applied for the correct permit, but it seems that they underestimated just how much time it would take to process."

Minnelli's first show at London's Coliseum on Sunday (25May08) night went ahead as planned. The star's U.K. tour concludes in Glasgow, Scotland on 6 June (08).
